What is vision? Vision is a dynamic process that involves the integration of the brain, eyes, and body. Vision imbalances can affect learning, behavior, movement, balance, and overall health. "20/20" is only one aspect of vision. Vision is a learned and developed skill. It can be improved at any age.

Dr. Berne’s Mission Statement: " I believe the eyes, brain, and body are a holistic, connected, integrated system. The 20/20 reading on the eye chart is only one aspect of our visual system. Vision is part of the interrelated sensory-motor system in the brain. It involves our inner ear (vestibular), motor (movement), speech/language, auditory(hearing), and tactile (touch) functions.

My Holistic Approach, outlined as follows, involves neurological, developmental, and behavioral aspects of a person.

1. The ADD To Autism Continuum
ADD falls under a continuum of disorders that ranges from ADD, which is the least severe, and goes to AD/HD, LD (Learning Disability), PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder), and Autism which is the most severe. Each child, or adult, has his own individual combination of symptoms and causes. Therefore, in order to treat the patient as a whole being, it is vital to first collect a detailed history. This information includes physical and /or birth trauma; lowered immune function, which may be caused by allergies, yeast infections, reactions to immunizations, overuse of antibiotics, and frequent illness, and congenital or genetic problems. Dr. Berne works with all of these conditions. He treats the whole person. Click HERE to learn more about ADD, Vision and Learning.
